Wonderful service and selection of coffee and pastries. Very welcoming to people who need a work spot. Lots of power outlets, laptop friendly areas, and cozy corners for a phone call. Love this spot.
Highly recommend this place! I visited on a recommendation from the staff at Unity Temple, and I’m so glad I did. I ordered the traditional breakfast, and though the menu listed a biscuit, the staff kindly let me swap it for toast. I opted for scrambled eggs, and I’d definitely suggest adding a sprinkle of pepper—it really enhances the flavor. The jam seems homemade, and both it and the butter were absolutely delicious. The potato wedges were seasoned with herbs and not overly salty, though the portion was a bit more than I could finish. The dining environment is bright and comfortable, and the bar seating by the window even has outlets, which is a nice touch.
We were in the area for a tour and had some extra time. Based on a recommendation from a local we had lunch here. We ordered the avocado toast & breakfast burrito. Both were SO good! It took a bit longer than we expected and had to take some to go, but it was just as good as leftovers!!! Give yourself plenty of time and enjoy a really great meal here.
We love going to the Courageous Bakery for a treat, meal or just a refreshing drink. The service is kind and the food is delicious. I meet my daughter there after school. My husband and I go after service on Sunday. I've even met for meetings there. They have something for everyone... even gluten free options.
I wasn’t planning on stopping into this bakery, but the amazing smell of the freshly made ice cream cones drew me right in! I ended up grabbing two cupcakes to go—french silk and banana cream. Both were super soft, flavorful, and delicious without being overly sweet. While I was there, I looked over the menu and saw that they also offer food, drinks, and other treats. I definitely plan to come back for breakfast and coffee next time. And eventually, I’ll be back to try the ice cream that caught my attention in the first place! A great little spot that’s worth a visit.
Just came in for a coffee, the donuts holes were a nice surprise and were excellent. Will come back to try more. Very kind, pleasant customer service. Cheerful green walls and plenty of solo diner seating with outlets .
Its good I like the tables, the ice cream, the cupcakes! Although their "deals" are a bit skimpy. There was one recently where if you were signed up for their emails on the 4th of July, for 1 special drink + 4 cupcakes you get 2 dollars off, which is about a 26ish dollar order. Wont take a star off though, would do 4.5
Great cafe, and right near the library. My espresso was tasty and the pastries received copius praise. It's very cute and easy to sit and relax for a bit. I heard that there is a summer ice-cream vending window that is a must-visit (including coconut-based varieties). There was a vegan and gluten free baked good on the menu, too~ I wasn't hungry, but it's good to know it was available!
Cutest breakfast spot ever! This place is such a gem for anyone in Oak Park. We tried the donut holes, the blueberry danish, the pistachio almond loaf, and the breakfast burrito, all were amazing. Everything in the bakery case looks amazing and the store is adorable. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a good breakfast in Oak Park. Will definitely be returning!
My favorite cafe in Oak Park. Always bright, good vibes, and one of my favorite cupcakes in the Chicago area! The chocolate peanut butter, cookies and cream, banana, and pink velvet are my favorite cupcakes. For savory pastries, the everything ham and Swiss croissant is my favorite. Not to mention the slightly tangy, fruity ice cream has fresh waffle cones in the summer, too. Occasionally, the brunch will come with delicious donut holes. Please do yourself a favor and come visit Courageous! You won’t regret it!
